World Cup 2023: Babar Azam’s weak captaincy skills and poor performance of the players cost Pakistan dearly in the ongoing Cricket World Cup (ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, India) in India and the team could not even make it to the semi-finals. Recently, due to the poor performance of the team, chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and bowling coach Morne Morkel had resigned from their respective posts. Now the news is coming that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken strict action and dismissed the entire selection committee.
Let us tell you that a Pakistani news channel has given information about the dismissal of the selection committee by PCB. Along with this, there are also reports that Shahid Afridi can become the new head of the selection committee, while Younis Khan will be added to the team as batting coach. It is expected that PCB will form its new selection committee before its tour of Australia (PAK tour of AUS). Pakistani team will play Test series on Australia tour from 14th December.
On October 30, Inzamam had resigned from the post of selector amid Pakistan’s poor performance in the World Cup, which has been accepted by the PCB. Pakistan’s bowling was very poor in this World Cup and the team’s bowling coach, former South African fast bowler Morkel, resigned from his post on 13 November. Pakistan had made a good start in the World Cup by winning its first two matches. After this, it had to face defeats against India, Australia, Afghanistan and South Africa. However, Pakistan had defeated Bangladesh and New Zealand before losing to England in the last match. The team finished 5th with just eight points after nine league matches.
