Baghpat. There was an encounter between police and cattle smugglers in the forest of Baoli village. Meanwhile, during the encounter, two criminals carrying a bounty of Rs 15,000 each were injured by police firing. After this the police arrested him. It was told that the police have recovered two pistols, cartridges and shells from the cattle smugglers. According to the police, cases are registered against the caught cattle smugglers in other police stations including Baraut and Baghpat.
A joint team of Kotwali police and SOG was checking vehicles near Baraut Baoli late night on 12th November. Meanwhile, when the police tried to stop two youths riding a bike, the accused fired at the police and ran away. When the police retaliated and opened fire, both of them got injured by the police bullets. Both of them have been shot in the leg. The police have caught both the miscreants.

The arrested accused is Kala alias Shakir son of Farman, resident of Gauripur Niwada, Kotwali Baghpat and name of the other is Mehtab son of Abdul Rahim, resident of Nagla Bhanwada, police station Ratanpuri, district Muzaffarnagar. Both were wanted in cases of murderous attack and cow slaughter.
