Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have announced that more than 200 farmer organizations are marching to Delhi to put pressure on the Center for their demands. Strict security arrangements have been made on the borders of Delhi by installing multi-layered barriers, concrete barriers, iron nails and container walls.

Not only Shambhu, but soul-stirring preparations were seen to block the path of the agitating farmers at Jarodha and Singhu borders of Delhi. Security forces standing to stop the farmers were seen with sharp weapons and oxygen pilot masks. All the borders of the national capital have been sealed from all sides. At the same time, every activity of the protesting farmers is being monitored through drone cameras.

At the same time, heavy security arrangements have been made in view of the farmers’ protest in the states adjoining Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. At the Kundli border in Sonipat, Haryana, security forces blocked the movement of farmers by placing containers filled with soil on the road. Due to the preparation of security forces in Ambala, it seems as if there is a war situation and not a farmer movement. Barbed wire fences were placed in the path of the protesters.

Why are farmers agitating?

Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have marched to Delhi with more than 200 farmer organizations to put pressure on the Central Government for making a law to guarantee the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of crops and other demands. To stop these farmers, the state borders have been converted into fortresses at many places in Haryana and Delhi by installing concrete barriers, sharp road barriers and barbed wire.
