In view of dense fog and cold, the Gautam Buddha Nagar administration has extended holidays in all schools up to class 8 in Noida and Greater Noida. In the order issued by District Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar, it has been said that in view of the dense fog and cold, all the schools of Noida and Greater Noida should provide holidays for students up to class 8 till January 14.
This order will be applicable to all schools recognized by state boards, CBSE, ICSE, IB and others. Earlier, in view of the severe cold and dense fog, DM Manish Kumar Verma had ordered all schools up to class VIII to remain closed till January 6.
In the notice issued by District Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar, it has been said that in compliance with the instructions issued by District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, keeping in mind the dense fog and severe cold, all the boards operating in the district (CBSE/ICSE IB, In schools affiliated to UP Board and others, children from classes Nursery to 8 will have holiday till January 14. Panwar said- the order should be strictly followed. Meanwhile, District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Dharamveer Singh said that during this period, the timings for classes 9 to 12 will be from 10 am to 3 pm.
The minimum temperature in some parts of western Uttar Pradesh has fallen by one degree from normal. The minimum temperature recorded in Gautam Buddha Nagar on Saturday was 9 degrees Celsius. It is expected to remain between 9 to 13 degrees Celsius during the next six days. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of cold wave and fog in most parts of western Uttar Pradesh. Gautam Buddh Nagar is also included in this. In the warning issued by IMD, an alert of cold wave with dense fog has been issued on Saturday and Sunday. After this, there are chances of rain along with thunder on Tuesday.
