After laying the foundation stone of AIIMS in Rewari on February 16, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of Metro in Old Gurugram through video conferencing. The program will be organized near the Millennium City Metro Station. The district administration has started preparations for this.

The Prime Minister will address a public meeting after laying the foundation stone of AIIMS in village Balki Majri of Rewari. Parallel to this, the foundation stone for metro operation will be laid in Old Gurugram. According to sources, GMDA CEO A. Srinivas has given directions to the Police Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Municipal Corporation Commissioner in this regard. This parking complex will be prepared as part of the foundation stone ceremony.

At present there is metro facility in the area of ​​New Gurugram. A plan was made many years ago to make this facility available to the entire city. Now the work will start with laying the foundation stone of the scheme. For this, a separate company named Gurugram Metro Rail Corporation has been formed.

After the metro expansion, the metro corridor in Gurugram will look like a ringman system. Initially there is a plan to run 35 metros on the new corridor. As the number of passengers increases, the number of metros will be increased further. Interchange facility will be available at Millennium City Gurugram Metro Station as well as Cyber ​​City Metro Station. In this way, the facility of Rapid Metro can be availed without leaving the station. District Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav says that lakhs of people will benefit from the metro expansion.

On the demand of the people, in the year 2015, Haryana Government had requested DMRC to prepare DPR for metro operation in Old Gurugram. Last year, this DPR of Haryana Government got the approval of the Central Government. Under this, the cost of operating the metro in Old Gurugram will be around Rs 5452 crore. Under this, a 28.50 km long metro line will be laid, under which 27 metro stations will be built. These include Sector 45, Cyber ​​Park, Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48, Sector 72A, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar Phase 6, Sector 10, 37, Basai, Sector 9, 7, 4, 5, Ashok Vihar and other stations. .
