PC market is falling in India, yet this company is at the forefront by defeating Lenovo, Dell – Bollywood Keeda

India’s traditional PC market (including desktops, notebooks and workstations) is expected to sell 13.9 million units in 2023, down 6.6 percent from a year ago. The report released on Tuesday said that HP remained the leader in the market.

In the report released by IDC, separate figures for shipments of desktops, notebooks, and workstations have been released. In which year over year growth of 6.7 percent has been recorded in desktop shipments. Notebook shipments declined by 11.1 percent. Also, a decline of 14 percent has been recorded in the workstation market. A decline has also been recorded in the consumer and commercial segments. There has been growth in education and government sectors. The education sector has recorded a growth of 80.5 percent while the government segment has recorded a growth of 18 percent.

Dominance of these 5 companies

Asus stood fifth in the top 5 in the consumer segment by shipping more than 10 lakh units in the year 2023. Asus stood second in the consumer segment after HP with a share of 15.1% and an annual growth of 8.6%.

Acer Group stood at fourth position in the year 2023 with a market share of 12.3%. The company has an annual growth of 16.1% in 2023. The company stood fourth in the commercial segment with a share of 15.7%. At the same time, in the consumer segment the company stood at fifth position with a share of 8.7%.

In the year 2023, Dell Company achieved a market share of 15.5%, but the company faced a sharp decline of 24.5%. However, in the commercial segment the company remained at second position with 20% share and in the consumer segment it stood fourth after Lenovo with 10.8% share.

Lenovo company stood second in terms of selling computers in the year 2023. Lenovo’s market share was 16.7%. The company projected a 17.8% year-on-year decline in shipments in 2023 due to a slowdown in the SMB (small and medium business) segment and lower presence in the government and education sectors.

HP will continue to dominate the Indian PC market even in the year 2023. HP company remained on top with a share of 31.5%. The company has benefited from the increasing demand from the government and education sector. The company had a share of 33.6% in the commercial segment and 29.4% in the consumer segment. Apart from this, the company also had good sales during the festive season.
