The board of OpenAI, the company that runs ChatGPT, which has been in the news in the last few months, has fired its CEO, Sam Altman, who was famous for generative AI. Mira Murati, Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI, will take over as interim CEO in his place. The tech industry has been shocked by Sam’s exit from the company.
According to AFP news, ChatGPT was created by 38-year-old Altman about a year ago. He became a sensation in the tech world with the release of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot with unprecedented capabilities. ChatGPT does the work in just a few seconds, which may take hours to do.
The board removed Sam Altman from the company
The board of OpenAI decided to remove the company’s CEO Sam Altman from his post. The company said in its statement that Sam Altman is not clear about his conversations, due to which the board is facing problems. The board no longer has confidence in Altman’s abilities, so he has to resign from his post.
Greg Brockman expressed surprise
OpenAI President and co-founder Greg Brockman expressed surprise at Sam Altman’s removal from the company. He wrote on X, “Sam and I are shocked and saddened by what the board did today. First of all, thanks to all the people with whom we have worked at OpenAI. “We are still trying to find out what exactly happened.”
