Maruti Electric SUV: Maruti Suzuki has started testing many new models including the new generation Swift on Indian roads. In this sequence, for the first time Suzuki EVX electric SUV has been seen during testing in India. Earlier, this electric SUV has also been seen in Poland. Suzuki introduced both models at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. The Swift is expected to hit the market in 2024, while the eVX is expected to launch in India in late 2024 or early 2025.
A YouTuber spotted this electric car near the Delhi-Gurugram border. The car was covered with black colored material. From the outline of the car, it appears that it is the company’s upcoming eVX electric SUV, which was shown as a concept at the last Auto Expo. In the YouTube short video, it can be seen running amidst traffic. It features a muscular front design and a carved bonnet. The car has a sloping roof and sharp tail lamps connected to the LED strip. Talking about the concept model, the length, width and height of this upcoming Maruti electric SUV are expected to be around 4,300 mm, 1,800 mm and 1,600 mm respectively.
The Suzuki eVX will be available in both single and dual-electric motor setups. It can be reserved for international markets like Europe and Japan. The eVX can be equipped with a 60 kWh Li-ion battery pack, which can provide a driving range of more than 500 km. The photos spotted during testing also show a two-spoke steering wheel and dual-screen layout.
Maruti Suzuki eVX will compete with other electric models like the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 based electric SUV, Hyundai Creta based EV, Tata Curve EV, Honda Elevate EV, Kia Seltos EV. There are plans to launch zero-emission vehicles in 2025 and 2026. It will be built on 27L architecture derived from Toyota’s 40PL.
Will be based on new skateboard platform
Maruti Suzuki EVX electric SUV was seen during testing in Gurgaon near the company’s production plant. MSIL has not yet disclosed information about its architecture. However, media reports suggest that this new model will be built on a new skateboard platform, which is known by the code name 27PL. This architecture will be taken from Toyota’s 40PL electric skateboard architecture. This EV will be manufactured at Suzuki’s manufacturing plant in Gujarat. After Maruti Suzuki, Toyota will also launch a new electric SUV in the Indian market.
