Now issuing the memorandum, the Department of Expenditure said that it has come to its notice that various ministries and departments have issued their own policies in this regard, which are not in accordance with the spirit of the guidelines of the Finance Ministry. Ministries and Departments are directed to withdraw their policies on this subject and follow the instructions issued by this Department in letter and spirit. According to instructions issued in July, central government officials can take gadgets worth up to Rs 1.3 lakh, which they can keep for personal use after four years.
