West Indies defeated India by eight wickets in the fifth and final decider of the five-match T20 series. With this victory, the West Indies have also captured this T20 series 3-2. Batting first in the fifth match played in Lauderhill, Florida, India scored 165 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs. In response, West Indies achieved the target by losing two wickets in 18 overs. The West Indies team won the first two T20s.

After this, Team India returned and won the third and fourth T20. However, along with losing the fifth T20, the Indian team also lost the series. Nicholas Pooran and Brandon King shared a 107-run partnership for the West Indies to keep India away from winning the match and the series. Brandon King remained unbeaten on 85 off 55 balls. However, Romario Shepherd, who took four wickets for 31 runs in four overs in the fifth T20, was named player of the match. At the same time, Nicholas Pooran, who scored 176 runs in the series, was adjudged the Player of the Series.
