As soon as the information was received, Mumbai Police came into action and arrested a 30 year old accused Akash Kothari. During the investigation, Mumbai Police received some messages and also found some documents against him.
Tickets are being sold up to Rs 2.5 lakh
Akash Kothari was arrested by a team of JJ Police Station from his residence in Malad in the northern part of Mumbai. The messages received by the police during the investigation have been circulated in many groups through Whatsapp app. According to this message, tickets for the match were being sold between Rs 27,000 and Rs 2.5 lakh.
Black marketing took place in this match also
The issue of black marketing of World Cup match tickets has come to light earlier also. Kolkata Police had arrested 5 people on charges of black marketing of tickets for the IND vs SA match held on 5 November. In this case, the police had also arrested many other people and also confiscated many tickets from them. The police had also issued a notice to BCCI regarding this matter.
