Apart from this, the CM announced that in future, the accounts of the panchayats will have to be kept by the block development and panchayat officer, whereas earlier the village secretary used to look after them. He said that the present government has made the working system of panchayats transparent, so along with the village secretary, it is necessary to have the account of the panchayat with the BDPO. The important aspect is that he himself keeps the accounts of 6500 panchayats of the state with him all the time.
