Ghaziabad. A person has accused fraudsters of committing a fraud of Rs 16.32 lakh by hacking the ICEGATE portal of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs and issuing two Scrips licenses. According to the victim, the accused committed fraud by misusing his user ID and password.
Mukesh Kumar Kaira, resident of Jaipuria Apartment in Crossing Republic, says that his complaint is regarding hacking and misuse of the ICEGATE (Indian Customs Electronic Gateway) of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs. ICEGATE is a national portal of Indian Customs that provides e-filing services electronically to businesses, cargo carriers and other trading partners. Mukesh Kumar Kaira says that he had applied for registration of his firm and issuance of Class-Three Digital Signature and Registration Key with IC Gate on May 18, 2023. Received his IEC number through mail on 19 July 2023.
Mukesh Kumar alleges that Icegate ID issued this IEC number on an ID which was not his ID. In this regard, he informed the Icegate Registration Department through mail. After this he was asked to apply for cancellation.
