New Delhi. The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has summoned BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Jain for questioning in connection with an alleged fraud of Rs 81 crore in the fintech unicorn. Police sources gave this information on Friday.
Sources said that the couple has been asked to appear at the EOW’s Mandir Marg office on November 21 to join the investigation being conducted on Bharat Pay’s complaint. A few hours before this, Grover had made a post on social media platform X claiming that he was stopped at Delhi airport on Thursday, when he and his wife were going to New York for a holiday. EOW officials confirmed the summons were sent and said that they were stopped after a lookout circular was issued against the couple. The EOW had filed an FIR in the case in May against Grover, his wife Madhuri and family members Deepak Gupta, Suresh Jain and Shwetank Jain.
