Delhi News: Delhi. Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Dr. Manoj Kumar said that the preparations for the Lok Sabha general elections are being finalized by the district administration and the district administration is fully prepared to conduct the elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner. Strict steps have also been taken by the administration regarding adherence to the Model Code of Conduct.

The Deputy Commissioner said that preparations are being made for the Lok Sabha elections in the district and work is going on in the final phase. For the convenience of voters, arrangements for all polling ramps etc. have been ensured. He said that on the instructions of the Election Commission, voters above 80 years of age and disabled voters have been given the option to vote from home. Only after the voter gives consent, a team will be formed for voting arrangements. The administration has made concrete arrangements to conduct free and fair elections. Flying Squad teams will take immediate action if any complaint of violation of code of conduct is received anywhere. Apart from this, surveillance teams have been formed to prevent illegal liquor, cash and other things during elections. Which will be present at various checkpoints in the district. He said that the administration teams will also keep a close watch on the election expenditure, not only this, he told that adequate police force will be deployed to conduct the Lok Sabha elections peacefully and fairly. The District Election Officer said that the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect from the date of announcement of the elections and the election notification in the state will be issued on 29 April 2024. Under the election process, nomination papers can be filed till May 6. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on 7th May and the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers for the candidates will be 9th May. He told that voting will be held on 25th May and counting of votes will take place on 4th June 2024. He told that June 6, 2024 is the date of completion of the election process.
