New Delhi, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved the creation of ten new family courts in the capital. With this, the number of family courts in the capital will increase from 21 to 31.
The proposal for these ten new family courts was brought for the first time in October 2019, which was approved after four years. Their formation will help in taking decisions on matters pending for more than a decade. As heads of these courts, 71 posts will be created including ten judges, which include Reader, Steno, Senior PA, Steno, PA, Ahlmad, JA, etc. In the year 2019, the full court had recommended the establishment of at least ten more family courts in view of the cases pending for more than ten years.
