DCP Guru Iqbal Singh Sidhu said on Tuesday that the police have also recovered a six-day-old newborn from their possession. The mother of three daughters had sold the newborn girl for Rs 50 thousand. Investigation has revealed that this gang has sold more than 200 children so far.

Police had received a PCR call on February 20 in Rohini Sector 24 area. A person told that the sound of a child crying comes from the house opposite, although no child was born here. The caller expressed suspicion of child trafficking. On this, the team of SHO Begumpur Rajeev Ranjan reached the spot. Two women were found there who had a newborn baby. When the women did not give satisfactory answers about the girl, the police took them into custody and interrogated them.

He told that this baby has been brought from Muktsar Punjab for sale. Police arrested Piyush from Begumpur and Raman, Rajendra and three women from Punjab. The accused also include Raman’s wife and Piyush’s two real sisters. The accused told that the photographer’s wife has three daughters. She gave birth to another daughter on 15 February. Then the midwife who performed the delivery mediated and bought the baby for Rs 50 thousand. After this the baby was bought and sold six times. After this the girl reached Begumpur, from where a suitable buyer was being found for her.

Gang sold more than 200 babies

Investigation revealed that Sangram is an important link of this gang, who is being searched. Police have recovered the diary from the possession of the gang. According to the diary, this gang has sold more than two hundred children so far. Recently he has sold a child born on 10th February. The police officer said that the recovered girl child has been kept in a crèche. The girl will be handed over to her mother after her DNA test.
