Greater Noida, A double-decker bus caught fire near zero point on Yamuna Expressway at around 7.30 pm on Wednesday. Some passengers saved their lives by jumping down. No one was injured in the incident.
According to the Knowledge Park police station, late on Wednesday evening a double decker bus took a passenger from Delhi and left for Darbhanga in Bihar. There were about 25 passengers in the bus. As soon as the bus reached near the zero point of Yamuna Expressway in the Knowledge Park police station area, it suddenly caught fire. The driver somehow stopped the bus on the side. The passengers became frightened after seeing the smoke and flames. Many passengers came out of the gate of the bus, while some jumped to save their lives. On receiving information, police and fire department teams reached the spot and brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

According to the police, all the passengers in the bus were from Bihar. All these people were going to their homes on the occasion of Chhath festival. All the passengers in the bus got out safely. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the fire department.
