With the successful landing of India’s Chandrayaan-3, ISRO has proved its mettle to the world. While the whole world is congratulating India on this success, politics continues within the country regarding the credit for this mission. The Congress has once again targeted Prime Minister Modi on Sunday without taking his name. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has shared a video related to former PM Jawaharlal Nehru on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle. Along with this it is also written that those who are unable to digest the contribution of Jawaharlal Nehru for the establishment of ISRO should listen to this speech.
Nehru used to promote scientific approach – Jairam
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh in his post on X (Twitter) said that former PM Jawaharlal Nehru used to promote scientific approach. Those who are unable to digest his contribution in the making of ISRO, listen to his speech on the foundation day of TIFR (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research). The Congress leader also wrote that he did not just talk big about his knowledge of the ‘science of clouds’ providing protection from radars, but also took big decisions.
Nehru insisted on self-reliance from day one – Jairam
Earlier, Jairam Ramesh wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ that the main reason behind the success of ISRO which is not being recognized is that Nehru insisted on self-reliance from day one, whereas Delhi Some voices were advocating for greater US involvement. The Congress leader said that for this he definitely consulted and was influenced by Homi Bhabha, Vikram Sarabhai, Satish Dhawan, PN Haksar and many others.
