Cold-day alert in Delhi-NCR – Bollywood Keeda

New Delhi . Cold wave and cold continue in North India including the capital Delhi. According to the India Meteorological Department, there will be cold day conditions for the next two days in some areas of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, dense fog is expected to persist for two days in some areas of North-West and Eastern India.

The maximum temperature recorded in Delhi on Wednesday was 17.2, which was four degrees less than normal. The Meteorological Department believes that the chill is likely to increase due to cold winds on Thursday and the maximum temperature may remain between 16 to 17 degrees Celsius. There may be drizzle at some places on January 9.

Fog is expected: According to IMD, there will be dense fog in the morning on 4th and 5th January in Western Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, cold wave will prevail in different areas of Eastern Rajasthan on Thursday and Friday. In the last 24 hours, minimum temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees Celsius were recorded in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

There is a possibility of rain in these states. There is a possibility of rain in some places of South Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Light to moderate rain may occur during the next three to four days. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in Lakshadweep on January 4.

No respite from cold wave in Kashmir. People in Kashmir did not get respite from cold wave even on Wednesday. Officials said that the minimum temperature in Anantnag city was recorded at minus seven degrees on Tuesday night, which was the coldest place in Jammu and Kashmir. The temperature in Srinagar city was minus 4.8 degrees Celsius.

Train operations and air services affected

There was less fog in the capital compared to previous days. The Meteorological Department believes that there may be light fog in the morning for the next five days. Despite this, trains are running late due to fog. On Wednesday, about 40 trains coming to Delhi arrived late. At the same time, 10 planes took off late.

Heavy fog expected in Punjab and Haryana

The Meteorological Department has issued a cold day warning in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan on Thursday and Friday. Except Delhi, an alert of severe fog has also been issued in these states. Let us tell you that when the minimum temperature goes below 10 degrees Celsius, it is called cold day.
