CM Kejriwal appeared in Delhi court today, summons sent on ED complaint – Bollywood Keeda

New Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal is appearing in Raju Avenue Court today in the money laundering case related to the excise scam. ED had filed a complaint in the court when he did not appear after being issued summons five times. On which on February 7, the court sent summons to CM Kejriwal and asked him to appear in the court on February 17.

ED had issued five summons one after the other to Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in the excise scam case. Kejriwal did not appear before the ED, raising questions on every summons. He had written a letter to ED calling the summons illegal and politically motivated. He had alleged that the purpose of the summons was to arrest and stop him from campaigning.

CM Kejriwal did not appear before ED on 5 consecutive summons sent by ED, after which a complaint was filed in Rouse Avenue Court regarding this matter. A complaint case was filed by ED against CM Kejriwal for non-appearance in compliance with Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, the hearing of which was held on 07 February. While hearing this case, the court issued a notice to CM Kejriwal asking him to appear in the court on 17th February.

ED had sent summons to Kejriwal on February 2, January 17, January 3, December 21 and November 2, but the Delhi CM did not appear. Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that Kejriwal, in his reply to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), asked that if he was not an accused in the money laundering case related to excise policy, then why was summons issued to him.

Let us tell you that ED has so far arrested former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP and AAP leader Sanjay Singh in the Delhi liquor scam. Both are currently in judicial custody and many bail petitions of both the leaders have been rejected. Apart from these two leaders, many other people have also been arrested in this case.
