New Delhi , Preparations for Chhath Puja have started in the capital. More than 400 artificial ponds are being built at various places. Apart from this, artificial ponds will also be established on the banks of Yamuna. There will be good lighting arrangements from these ghats to the main road.
More than three thousand employees of Delhi Municipal Corporation will handle the work of cleanliness along with other basic facilities. Apart from this, the corporation’s teams will work together with Delhi Police. For Chhath Puja, an amount of Rs 40 thousand has been allocated by the corporation to each ward.
Chhath festival is celebrated every year in a grand manner in Delhi. The state government has also made many preparations in this regard. There are one thousand ghats in Delhi. Lakhs of devotees worship here. Corporation employees will be deployed in all the ghats. A senior officer of the corporation said that artificial ghats will be built in every ward of Delhi. The employees of the Electrical Department have been instructed to improve the arrangement of lights around all the ghats. This department will work in collaboration with other departments and agencies. Besides, the responsibility of security will also be handled by Delhi Police.
‘Forced to celebrate Chhath in polluted water’
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has alleged that the Delhi government only gives statements in the matter of pollution. No work was done on the land. Due to this, people of Purvanchal are forced to celebrate Chhath in the polluted Yamuna water. In the press conference, Sachdeva alleged that we are worried about air pollution but today the foam spread in Yamuna has disturbed the Purvanchali migrants settled in Delhi who are preparing for Chhath festival.
