New Delhi : Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court, while hearing the anticipatory bail plea of ​​AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in the money laundering case related to irregularities in the recruitment of Delhi Waqf Board, has refused to grant any relief at present. The next hearing in the case will now be held on February 24.

During the hearing today, ED demanded time to file the reply, on which the court directed to file the reply by 24th February. The lawyer appearing for Amanatullah Khan demanded interim bail till the pending anticipatory bail petition, which was rejected by the court. The court had issued a notice to ED on 19 February.

Delhi court refused to grant relief in the money laundering case. AAP MLA’s lawyer said that summons was issued to Amanatullah Khan in the money laundering case. He told the court that this matter pertains to two FIRs in the same case. The first FIR was filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation on November 23, 2016. AAP MLA Khan is accused of wrongly becoming the Chairman of Delhi Waqf Board.

Amanatullah Khan is accused of wrongly appointing many employees while being the Chairman of Delhi Waqf Board. Apart from this, there is also an allegation against him that he had wrongly leased the properties of the board. ED is now investigating this case because ED suspects money laundering in it. Here, the AAP MLA, while filing his anticipatory bail petition in the court, has expressed apprehension that he may be arrested.
