New Delhi , The country is celebrating Children’s Day on 14th November, but children are still seen doing child labor in many places including shops, dhabas and car garages across the country including Delhi-NCR. Now there is a demand to make strict laws to prevent all these.
Shocking figures regarding child labor have emerged from across the country including Delhi. In the last one year, a total of about 13 thousand children were freed from child labor across the country. About 800 children were freed in the capital from January to November.
Bachpan Bachao Andolan NGO, in collaboration with Delhi Police, has freed children from child labor in the capital. Executive director of the NGO, Dhananjay Tingle, said that child traffickers bring children from other states and then force them into bonded labour. Despite all the laws to protect children from child labour, child labor is not being stopped. To stop this, along with security agencies, civil society and NGOs will also have to fulfill their responsibilities.
